Marketing and social media promotion

It is in our interest to ensure your attendance at the market is highlighted to a wide audience. We run regular paid adverts on our social media channels and offer you the opportunity to supply content for us to post on your behalf.

We will produce posters and flyers to promote the event, if you would like flyers or a poster to display, please let us know.

We are very grateful for the support of stall-holders and would ask that you help to promote the event by sharing the social media posts we will create to advertise the market and talking about your attendance at the event to your customers.

Doing this will help us to make the market a thriving and viable monthly event with repeat footfall. This helps you to reach a new and diverse set of customers.

Safety

We do not intend to fully close the Old Town High Street for these markets. However, Dacorum Borough Council have chosen to restrict the traffic on market days to ensure the safety of the public during the event. The gates will be manned and the gate operatives will allow you accesses if you tell them you are a stall holder.

Pitch locations

We spend a huge amount of time planning the areas in which we place stalls. In order to ensure diversity and a fresh shopping experience for our market customers, we regularly change pitch locations.

We are happy to receive pitch location requests and where possible, we will place your stall in your preferred location. However, it is not possible to guarantee that you will always be in the same pitch location every month. We always promote the market areas thoroughly.

Facilities

The public toilets in St Mary’s Square and in St Mary’s Church Hall will be open on the day for the use of stall holders and the general public.

Hot drinks and food are available from the traders on St Mary’s Square and from the numerous coffee shops situated on the High Street.

Discounts and block booking opportunities

We offer stall holders the opportunity to block book markets dates and offer a price reduction. Please see prices on the booking form.
